  • Full 10-year British passport
  • Certified copy of long version of original birth certificates (must be re-issued by General Register Office no more than 3 months prior to wedding date – www.gro.gov.uk)

If Bride or Groom has been divorced* Original decree absolute
If Bride or Groom is widowed Original death certificate & previous marriage certificate
If Bride or Groom was adopted Original adoption certificate
If Bride or Groom changed name Original deed poll notice issued by UK Deed Poll Office

*By Mauritian law if the bride-to-be has been divorced for 10 months or less, she will need to have a pregnancy test in resort. If the test is negative, a Mauritian Doctor’s certificate of non-pregnancy will be issued. If the test is positive, then the wedding will not go ahead. If the bride to be is already pregnant she would have to wait until she has been divorced for more than 10 months.

  • Minimum age to marry: 18
  • Minimum no. of days in resort prior to wedding: 3 days
  • Minimum overall stay required: 7 days
  • Documents must be sent to Beach Weddings within 8 weeks of travel
  • Number of witnesses required: 2 – must be over the age of 18 (we can arrange witnesses if only bride & groom travelling)

Climate

Mauritius has a sub tropical climate, which means you’ll discover all year round sunshine and warm weather. However the average temperature can drop below 24 degrees and rainfall can happen all year round – but this is more than likely just short sharp showers.

January to April is the period in which you’ll find the hottest months with very high humility, as the temperatures don’t often go below 25-30 degrees. Strong winds and short lived rain showers are most likely to be around February.

May to August represent the cooler months with temperatures lingering around 25 degrees on average. September to December are slightly warmer with high’s between 27 and 30 degrees with humidity being quite mild.
